Ingredients
- 2.5 lb boneless skinless turkey breast, thawed
- 1 cup low-sodium turkey broth
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh sage leaves
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 12 Hawaiian sweet slider rolls, split
- 6 slices Swiss cheese, halved
Instructions
- Place the turkey breast into the slow cooker insert.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the turkey broth, melted butter, minced garlic, fresh sage, fresh thyme, onion powder, kosher salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Pour the herb butter liquid over the turkey breast, coating all sides.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 5 to 6 hours (or HIGH for 3 to 3.5 hours) until the turkey is fully tender and reaches a safe internal temperature of 165 F on a meat thermometer.
- Transfer the turkey to a cutting board and shred using two forks. Return the shredded turkey to the slow cooker juices and toss gently to absorb the liquid.
- To assemble, split the slider rolls, pile generous portions of warm garlic sage shredded turkey onto the bottom halves, top with Swiss cheese halves, and close with top buns.
- Optional: Place assembled sliders under a oven broiler for 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese is melted and buns are toasted.
Tips
- Keep leftovers stored in an airtight container with extra pan juices for up to 3 days; reheats wonderfully without drying out.
- Swap Swiss cheese for provolone, white cheddar, or gouda depending on your preference.
- For party prep, keep the shredded turkey warm on the crockpot warm setting and let guests build their own sliders.
